We have recently relocated our boutique into a new premises. We are now based in the heart of the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. This wonderful new location gives us much more space and more flexibility with appointments. We are now open longer hours than we were previously able to offer.
Parking in Wirksworth
There is free parking on St Johns St. right outside the boutique for 40mins. Perfect for when you collect your dress before the big day. However, for your main appointments with us, you’ll want to stay longer so it’s best to park elsewhere. There are various places to park in Wirksworth. The market place pay and display car park is perfect as it is only a minutes walk to the boutique.
There is a free car park opposite Anthony Gell secondary school on Canterbury Road. This is only a 5-minute walk from the boutique.
Unfortunately, car parking can be a little hit and miss especially on busy market days. These take place every Tuesday and the farmers market is on the first Saturday of the month. We would therefore advise that you allow plenty of time to find yourself a car parking spot.
If you were planning on making a special day of your appointment there are some wonderful things to see and do in and around Wirksworth, to make your visit extra special. We’ve listed some of our favourites below.
Where to eat
Le Mistral – Fantastic French Food and a vaulted cellar!
Mercia – Beautiful coffee shop and restaurant with a fantastic gin bar
Sour Cow – Why not skip lunch and go straight for the pudding, Sour Cow do amazing frozen yogurt!
Coffee Drop – The most delicious dairy free cake in the world.
Things to do
Black Rocks are literally on our doorstep and is an easy walk along the old Victorian railway line, (you can still see some sections of it). You can see the most amazing views of Matlock, Cromford and the surrounding areas.
Carsington Reservoir is around 7 minutes away by car and has a nice easy walk around the reservoir. It’s really popular and has a play area so it’s great if you have little ones. Be warned though it is an 8-mile circular route. We recommend you turn around at the two-mile marker and head back to the visitor centre for an amazing soft ice cream cone.
A short drive north and you will leave the Derbyshire Dales and head into the awe inspiring Peak District National Park, with stately homes such as Chatsworth House, Tissington Hall and Haddon Hall at its heart, all spectacular wedding venues in their own right. Again these are great for families to visit.
